Yandex Music for Artists and VK Studio: How to Claim Your Artist Page in 2026

In short

An artist page on Yandex Music appears automatically with your first release through a distributor – there is no "create artist" button. You claim it yourself in Yandex Music for Artists with your Yandex ID and the link to your page; after verification you get statistics, profile design and editorial pitching. VK Music works the same way through VK Studio, Zvuk – through the distributor that delivered your release. Yandex Music pays about 9–50 ₽ per 1,000 streams, VK Music 11–85 ₽.

Key facts: your artist page

  • Access: requested in Yandex Music for Artists with your Yandex ID and the link to your page
  • Verification: from a few hours to a few days
  • Link format: music.yandex.ru/artist/ followed by a number
  • Avatar: a square of at least 1000×1000 px, a face or a logo in the centre, no text on top
  • Pitching: from the account, at least two weeks before the release date
  • VK Music: VK Studio; Zvuk: access confirmed through your distributor

Once your first release is out on Yandex Music, an artist page already exists – but it isn't yours until you claim it. Claiming takes a few minutes and gives you what the app never shows: plays by track and day, listeners by city, the playlists you got into and a pitch form for the next release. Here is how it works on Yandex Music, VK Music and Zvuk.

What an artist page is and why it matters

The artist page collects all your releases, your photo and description, and the button listeners press to follow you. Followers get your new releases in their feed – the easiest plays you can get on release day. Until the page is claimed, you can't change the photo, fix a release that landed on another artist's page or pitch new tracks to editors.

How an artist page is created

There is no "create artist" button and no empty profiles: the page appears automatically when the first release with your artist name reaches the catalogue. So the only way to get a page is to release music through a distributor – Yandex Music doesn't accept uploads from artists.

  1. Release your first track through a distributor that delivers to Yandex Music – see which distributors deliver to Russian platforms.
  2. Wait until the release is live and find your page through the search in the app.
  3. Copy the link from the address bar – it looks like music.yandex.ru/artist/ followed by a number. You will also need it for your social media and press kit.
  4. Request access in Yandex Music for Artists: sign in with your Yandex ID, paste the link and confirm your rights to the page.

How to sign in to Yandex Music for Artists

The artist account lives separately from the regular app and opens under the same Yandex ID the access was granted to. If access hasn't been granted yet, you will see a request form; verification takes from a few hours to a few days. A common trap: if you change the email of your Yandex ID, you can lose access – it is restored with a new request from the new account, not through your distributor's support. If the account doesn't open, first check that you are signed in with the right Yandex ID.

Avatar, photos and description

The avatar is changed in the account, not through the distributor. Requirements are simple: a square of at least 1000×1000 px, a face or a logo in the centre, no text on top, no store logos and no other people's watermarks. Add a short description and links to your social media – the page is what editors and new listeners check first.

What the statistics show

MetricWhat you see
PlaysBy track and by day
ListenersHow many people listened
SourcesPlaylists, search, My Wave
AudienceCities, gender and age
CollectionHow many listeners added the track to their collection
PlaylistsWhich playlists picked up the track and how many plays each one brought

This is the only official source of numbers – the app doesn't show them. Money is reported separately, by your distributor: the store counts plays, and royalties are calculated and paid by whoever delivered the release.

Pitching and playlists

You can't add a track to an editorial playlist yourself, and paid placements in other people's user playlists are something the stores dislike. Editors pick tracks from pitches sent from the account at least two weeks before the release date, and the algorithms behind My Wave react to how listeners behave in the first weeks. Yandex Music doesn't sell "track ads" inside the service – promotion happens outside it and through playlists. Step by step – how to get on Yandex Music playlists and how the Yandex Music chart works.

VK Music: VK Studio

On VK Music the logic is the same, but access goes through your VK profile or community: the release arrives from the distributor, and you link it to your artist page in VK Studio. From there you get statistics, link music videos and add the track to the VK Clips library. Some VK playlists are built by algorithms from listener behaviour, others by editors, who receive tracks in advance – before the release date. VK has no separate "track ad" format: you promote a music video or a post with the track through VK's advertising account. More – how to upload music to VK Music.

Zvuk

On Zvuk the artist account works the same way, but access is confirmed through the distributor that delivered your release, not with a direct request.

How much the stores pay

Yandex Music pays about 9–50 ₽ per 1,000 streams (21–54 ₽ on average in open reports), VK Music 11–85 ₽ (37–98 ₽ on average). Breakdowns – Yandex Music and VK Music.

Where to get help

Merging duplicate pages, renaming and someone else's tracks on your page are handled by Yandex Music's support for artists through the feedback form in the account. If your release came out through OUR ANGELS, you don't need to write anywhere: we handle the correspondence with the store.

Sources
